Fans of Marvel Studios' Disney+ series know two certain things going into any new show: the fourth episode is going to blow up the series premise, the penultimate episode will break audiences' hearts, and the finale will feature a big climactic battle in the final act. Loki Season 2 followed these rules, but the climactic battle in the finale was unlike any that came before it. After 44 films and TV shows, it's time for the MCU to not rely so heavily on a big, final-act superhero fight scene. At least on the TV shows, the fights are more dynamic than they usually are in the films. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye were straightforward, putting the costumed goodies against the baddies.
