Barry Allen's next cinematic appearance will be within a new film continuity, which could benefit the character in the long term. James Gunn's announcement of a DC Universe reboot signaled the end of the previous DC Extended Universe. The DCEU's versions of Justice League heroes like Batman and Superman will no longer be continuing as the rebooted franchise pivots toward new actors and plotlines for characters. But when the rebooted DCU inevitably introduces its own version of The Flash, it should take inspiration from The Flash series' impressive pilot.
