For the majority of the Barbie movie, there's a clear divide between the two sexes. Talks of stereotypes and gender roles start conversations about what it means to be an empowered woman. In Barbieland, it's the norm to feel on top of the world. But it demeans the Kens, making them complementary pieces to the Barbies rather than equals. So, what started as a quest to try to get rid of Barbie's (Margot Robbie) human-like qualities became a battle of the Barbies against the Kens.
