Joker: Folie à Deux director Todd Phillips celebrated Valentine's Day with DC Comics fans by sharing a special look at Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime and Harley Quinn.
On Phillp's official Instagram account, the director posted three images of Phoenix and Gaga under a spotlight, nose-to-nose through the bars of a prison cell, and dancing on what appears to be a stage production of a Gotham rooftop.
"Hoping your day is full of love," Phillips wrote in the caption, reminding his followers of Joker 2's release date on October 4.
This isn't the first time Phillips has used a national holiday to coincide with posting new images of his upcoming Joker film. During the holidays, Phillips shared two stills depicting the Hollywood actors as Joker and Harley Quinn. Considering that we've still got eight months until Joker hits theaters, its probably safe to expect more holiday-themed peaks at the film before its official release.
To date, all we know about Joker: Folie à Deux is that the film, as well as its predecessor, exists separately from James Gunn and Peter Safran's forthcoming DC Universe. Instead, the films will exist solely in what Safran dubs as DC Elseworlds canon alongside Teen Titans Go. As far as what to expect out of the plot of Joker: Folie à Deux, there are unconfirmed reports that the film is a musical.
