As widely beloved as Batman's library of DC Comics series are in general, there have been a few misfires over the decades that have been critically panned compared to the more celebrated installments. It's something that's bound to happen with any character around as popular or even more than the Dark Knight, especially with one so narratively malleable and open to interpretation.
