Yuji Itadori's powers and abilities are in an odd state within Jujutsu Kaisen's narrative. Despite how far along the story is, his range of skills remains at a relatively basic level. He still relies on close-quarters combat to beat his foes. That's gotten him by for a while, but as more powerful jujutsu users with better understandings of cursed energy manipulation appear, he'll need to step up his game to keep up. This has become most apparent with the recent battle between Gojo Satoru and Sukuna, two of history's best jujutsu sorcerers. Since JJK is a battle shonen, characters will be expected to meet that high standard and eventually surpass it, especially a protagonist like Yuji.
