Building unique and interesting worlds for gamers to get lost in is one of the hardest jobs of any writing team when creating a fantasy role-playing game. Not only does the world have to feel fleshed out, but it also has to feel distinct and interesting to compete with the many firmly established universes out there like Forgotten Realms or the world of Middle Earth. With so much history and decades behind them to perfect their systems, it can be incredibly challenging for newer worlds to establish themselves as needing to be taken seriously.
