Horror has taken many forms over the decades, with some of the best being in the form of slashers like Michael Myers or monster movies like the recent The Last Voyage of the Demeter. However, it's easy to forget that one of the other early forms of horror was the haunted house movie, which would take a simple premise of ghosts and twist and turn it into unique concepts. One of the earliest examples came with The Haunting in 1963. But in the years since, the subgenre grew into something potent and led to the introduction of one of its most famous franchises, The Conjuring.
