We already knew that Xbox Cloud Gaming would make its way onto Meta Quest headsets, but nearly a year after it was announced to be in the works, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today that Microsoft's cloud gaming service will be available on its headsets this December.
The initial announcement was made last October during the 2022 Meta Connect keynote, where the tech giant revealed that Xbox Cloud Gaming would be integrated into Meta Quest headsets, including the Meta Quest 3.

The cloud gaming service launched in 2019 before getting a full release the following year, and is available for users currently subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which costs $16.99 a month. However, Meta has yet to share further details on how the integration will work, including information about whether or not Meta Quest owners will need to subscribe to the service (assuming they are not already) or if the cloud gaming subscription service will be available as a standalone purchase on the Meta Quest Store.
Xbox Cloud Gaming has already been made available on mobile devices, tablets, Smart TVs, and even Xbox game consoles. The move to VR is uncharted territory for the service but closely aligns with Microsoft's previously announced intentions to build a global ecosystem for its gaming arm.
