Crytocurrency is back on the rise and, unfortunately, so are the prices of GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs. Over the past few months we've seen the 4090 drop back down to MSRP, but it looks like those days have passed. Right now you can pick up a 4090 for about a $500-$700 markup. Fortunately, there's one way to avoid that: pre-built RTX 4090 gaming PCs are still priced about the same as before. For example, Dell offering powerful Alienware Aurora R15 RTX 4090 equipped gaming PCs for as low as $2879.99. All of the configs below are equipped with liquid cooled Intel Core i7 or i9 CPUs, ample amounts of RAM, SSD storage, and a super high-capacity 1300W power supply, all packed in a sleek looking chassis.

You will need to upgrade to RTX 4090 (+$1280) under "Tech & Customization".

The specs on this Alienware Aurora R15 config include an Intel Core i7-13700KF CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 16GB of DDR-4800MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVME SSD. The unlocked 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700KF Raptor Lake CPU boasts a max Turbo clock of 5.4GHz with 16 cores, 24 threads, and a 30MB cache. The "F" in 13900KF simply means that the chip doesn't have onboard graphics (iGPU). That won't matter if you have a discrete GPU, which in this case is the RTX 4090. The CPU is cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. There are additional 120mm system fans to maintain proper ambient temps, both for the CPU and the rest of the components. A 1,350W 80PLUS Platinum PSU keeps everything running efficiently with enough power to cater to any future upgrades you might throw at it.

Compared to the aforementioned model above, this config is equipped with a more powerful Intel Core i9-13900KF processor and double the memory (32GB vs 16GB). The other specs remain the same. The unlocked 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900KF Raptor Lake CPU boasts a max Turbo clock of 5.8GHz with 24 cores, 32 threads, and a 36MB cache.

Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 Gaming PC for $3299.99

The R16 is the newest Alienware Aurora gaming chassis, released in early 2013. It's 40% smaller in volume compared to previous iterations but has better thermal management. It features a simple yet proven airflow design; air is drawn in through the side intake vents over the GPU area as well as a 120mm rear fan drawing air in and a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler exhausts air out through the top. A side benefit is that the GPU is supplied with fresh air from the outside instead of recirculating hot internal air.

Why choose a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU?

The RTX 4090 is far and away the most powerful video card you can get right now. No other GPU, either from NVIDIA or from AMD, comes close. As a reference, the RTX 4090 is about 110% faster at 4K gaming than the already impressive RTX 3080. It's about 60% faster than the previous king, the RTX 3090 Ti. That could very well be the single biggest performance upgrade within a single generational gap for the GeForce line of cards. If you're still not convinced, check out our RTX 4090 FE review. The 4090 is also the consumer card of choice for stuff like machine learning or AI image generation apps like Stable Diffusion. NVIDIA cards are generally more powerful than AMD cards with these kinds of apps and the amount of VRAM is of the highest priority; the 4090 has 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM, more than any other consumer NVIDIA card.
