Hellboy is one of the most popular and prolific independent comic book characters, though that hasn't always translated into success beyond the printed page. The beloved Guillermo del Toro Hellboy movies were somewhat removed from the source material, while the 2019 reboot was widely seen as a disappointment. A new take is now on the way, and there's very little to show for it so far.
