One of the true fathers of modern comics, Jack Kirby has left one of the biggest footprints on the comic book industry. The legendary creator of characters like Captain America, Silver Surfer, and co-creator of the X-Men and Fantastic Four, Kirby is best known as a Marvel mainstay. However, in the 1970s, he departed Marvel Comics and went on to write some powerful stories for DC Comics. While there, he wrote, drew and edited some of the decade's most influential stories and created characters who remain staples of the genre.
