Nearly 60 years after Captain Kirk first talked about space as the final frontier, Star Trek is still thriving. The series may appear on streaming instead of syndication, but even "bad" iterations of the franchise become beloved with time. This is why the modern Star Trek is primed for the return of Ferengi, aliens meant to be the "new Klingons" but hated by fans. Well, at least as villains. Thanks to Deep Space Nine, Trekkies' feelings about the capitalistic alien race have changed.
