For Amazon's October Prime Day, Amazon has the 48" LG 48GP900-B 4K OLED gaming monitor for only $799.99. That's $700 off the original $1400 MSRP and the lowest price we've ever seen for this monitor. This is essentially an LG OLED TV that has been modified for PC use.

48" LG 48GP900-B 4K OLED Gaming Monitor

The 48GP900-B was the first Ultragear gaming monitor to adopt an OLED panel. This is a similar WOLED panel to the one found in the 48" LG C1 OLED TV but there are a few key differences. The OLED TV has a semi glossy reflective coating, but the 48GP900 features an anti-glare low reflective coating that is more ideal for desktop use where you'll often have multiple light sources around you. Instead of only HDMI 2.1 inputs, it also has DisplayPort 1.4. Both connections will support 4K @ 120Hz (or up to 138Hz overdriven). Lastly, if aesthetics matter for you, there is subtle RGB backlighting on the rear of the monitor that isn't present on the OLED TVs. The one feature that this monitor lacks is the TV's smart functionality.

Why Choose an OLED Gaming Monitor?

When it comes to high end gaming monitors, there are so many options to choose from. But one thing is certain, you can't go wrong with OLED. OLED panels blows away any IPS, VA, TN monitor in terms of raw image quality. They have the best contrast ratio and dynamic range thanks to their near infinite black levels and the ability to switch on and off individual LEDs. They also have near instantaneous response times so ghosting is a thing of the past.
