As part of its Fall Sale Event, Samsung is slashing the prices on two of its most popular super ultra-wide monitors: the 49" Samsung Odyssey G9 gaming monitor is now $799.99, down from a $1500 MSRP, and the 49" Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor is $1099.99, down from a $1700 MSRP. These are already some pretty deep discounts, but Samsung is also throwing in a 24" Odyssey G3 gaming monitor at no extra cost. That makes it a better deal than buying it from any of the 3rd party retailers like Amazon or Best Buy.

49" Samsung Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitor

If you're looking for a super ultra-wide monitor at a great price, look no further than the 49" Odyssey G9. Unlike Samsung's other 49" monitors, this one doesn't have a Mini-LED or OLED panel, which helps keeps the price way, way down. That said, the G95C is absolutely no slouch; its VA panel boasts a fast 1ms GtG response time, up to 240Hz refresh rate, and 1000nits of peak HDR brightness. It also features both DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports for maximum compatibility.

Although the G9 isn't a true 4K monitor, it still has plenty of pixels packed into the 49" display. The 5120x1440 resolution is equivalent to having two 27" monitors stacked next to each other. In fact, the horizontal pixel count (5,120 pixels) is actually greater than a traditional 4K monitor (3,840 pixels).

49" Samsung Odyssey OLED G95SC Gaming Monitor

The Odyssey OLED G9 ups the ante by swapping the VA panel out for an OLED panel. OLED panels boast individual self-lit OLEDs that can turn on and off independently of each other, which allows for true blacks and incredible contrast ratios. The image quality, especially in HDR, is far better than what you'll see with traditional IPS, VA, or TN panels, and for many people the black levels alone are worth the price premium for going OLED. Samsung's quantum dot OLED panels are even better because they are brighter than regular OLED panels. OLED monitors are also great for gaming because of their near instantaneous respone time (0.3ms or less) and zero ghosting. The newer panels also have several features in place to minimize burn-in, including Pixel Shift and Pixel Refresh. As long as you maintain your monitor properly (mainly, auto-hiding your taskbar, shutting down or running a screen saver, setting your desktop background to slideshow), you'll probably never see any kind of noticeable burn-in during the life of the monitor.

Both monitors include a second 24" Odyssey G3 monitor

The Odyssey G3 monitor should be automatically added to cart. It's normally $199 but the price drops to $0. This is a capable 1080p gaming monitor with a 1ms response time and up to 180Hz refresh rate.
