Apple is finally bringing its first-party Calculator App to iPads as part of iPadOS 18.

At the WWDC 2024 keynote, the tech giant provided some screenshots of its official Calculator app running on iPads. If you own an iPhone and have used the calculator app on the device, the layout is the same, but with more screen real estate, of course.

More interestingly, because iPads support the Apple Pencil stylus, Apple also revealed that iPadOS 18 will also introduce Math Notes. Where users draw a math problem, and the Calculator app automatically solves it.

The iPad was originally released in 2010, and for the last 14 years, Apple's tablet has not had an official Calculator app. Previously, users had to either use the web browser or download a third-party app to be able to do math on an iPad.

The Calculator app is not the only official Apple app that did not come built into iPads upon its release, as the official Weather App did not arrive until 2022 when Apple announced at that year's WWDC that it was part of iPadOS 16.

Though Apple has not explicitly said why it took over a decade to release the official Calculator app on iPads, those who own the device are thankful nonetheless.
