DC Comics has arguably the greatest ensemble of villains in fiction, even outdoing Marvel's collection of evildoers. With the likes of Joker, Lex Luthor, and Darkseid, many of the DC Universe's antagonists are synonymous with comic book villainy itself. Each of these characters are driven by their own, personal motivations, but some have aspirations that go well beyond short-term violence and crime sprees.
