While the Zack Snyder movies that kicked off the DCEU didn't fare impressively financially or with critics, Warner Bros. did have a hit with 2018's Aquaman. It told a much more lighthearted story about family, with Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry taking the throne of Atlantis from a vengeful Orm. Fans enjoyed it globally, which resulted in a $1 billion box office intake worldwide.
