The action-packed second trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has arrived and it puts the battle between Anya Taylor-Joy's Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth's Dementus center stage.
From the striking black-and-white scene of a young Furiosa grabbing an apple that turns everything to color to her shaving her head to look like the older version of the character played by Charlize Theron, we get a good glimpse at the title character's origin story here.
Her upbringing is interrupted, however, when Dementus and his great Biker Horde barge in, becoming responsible for Furiosa losing her mother and childhood. Now, she'll do everything she can to bring him down and fight the world to return home.
"As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus," the official description reads. "Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home."
When Furiosa arrives in theaters on May 24, 2024, it will serve as a prequel to 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road. In our review of the original, we said it is "one of a kind. Like the world it creates, it is a thing of beautiful brutality."
