Despite Gal Gadot's recent comments that a third Wonder Woman movie was coming under James Gunn and Peter Safran's re-vamped DCU, Variety reports today that that's not the case after all.

Citing sources with knowledge of the situation, the outlet reports that Gunn and Safran do not, in fact, have any plans to develop a new Wonder Woman project outside of the upcoming live-action drama series Paradise Lost, which is set in Themyscira, home of the Amazons and birthplace of Wonder Woman.

"I love portraying Wonder Woman," Gadot recently told ComicBook.com. "It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together."

IGN has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment.

Gunn and Safran unveiled the roadmap for the first phase of their new DCU back in January, with movies focusing on famous characters like Superman, Supergirl, and Batman. The DCU will essentially restart with Superman: Legacy, which is slated to come out on July 11, 2025, barring delays amid the ongoing Hollywood strikes.

In that reset, Gadot's not the only one whose portrayal of a DC superhero is apparently being set to the side. In December, after Gunn and Safran's appointment as co-CEOs of DC Studios was announced, Henry Cavill announced that he would not be returning as Superman, despite having just recently reprised the character in Black Adam. Gunn later tweeted that "we just had a great meeting with Henry and we’re big fans and we talked about a number of exciting possibilities to work together in the future."

Similarly, Dwayne Johnson recently blamed Warner Bros. leadership for the reason that he won't be returning as Black Adam.

It hasn't been addressed whether or not Gadot could appear in Paradise Lost, but it's unlikely considering the show will be set before the days of Diana. Gunn previously described it as a "Game of Thrones-type story" about the origin of Themyscira.

Outside of the DCU, Gadot has her new action film Heart of Stone debuting on Netflix on Friday.
