No comic dominated the 1980s quite like Chris Claremont's X-Men did. It started the decade with John Byrne as the hottest artist in the industry and ended with the debut of another superstar artist Jim Lee filling in for his future Image Comics co-founder, Marc Silvestri. X-Men even launched three spin-off monthly titles in New Mutants, X-Factor, and Wolverine.
