NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is available starting today, January 24. The great news is that it's priced at the same MSRP as the RTX 4070 Ti that it replaces. The 4070 Ti SUPER refresh offers a bit better performance and more VRAM; it gets you ever closer to RTX 4080 performance without having to spend over $1000 on an NVIDA GeForce GPU.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is the second RTX 40 series "SUPER" card released by NVIDIA. It's designed to be the successor to the RTX 4070 Ti, as evidenced by the identical MSRP. NVIDIA claims up to 10% performance increase over the RTX 4070 Ti. Current benchmarks show a smaller improvement - closer to 5% - although that will likely improve as more optimized drivers become available. That's not a big performance jump, however considering the fact that there's no increase in price, it's acceptable.
The RTX 4070 Ti was about 15%-20% slower than the $1200 RTX 4080, and the RTX 4070 Ti closes that gap even further. Now you're getting closer to 85%-90% of the performance of the RTX 4080 at a $300 lower price. And unlike the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT or XTX, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER has features like DLSS 3.0 for even more gains in games that support it and better ray tracing performance.
The RTX 4070 Ti non-SUPER has dropped in price in recent days to compensate (as low as $745 right now), but the SUPER is still a better value. That's because in addition to the small performance bump, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is now equipped with 16GB of VRAM, a 33% improvement over the RTX 4070 Ti's 12GB. This makes it a considerably better performing card for anything that benefits from more memory including AI image generation apps like Stable Diffusion, machine learning, 3D rendering, and more.
At this point, the two NVIDIA cards that offer the most value are the new RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4070 SUPER GPUs. The $599 RTX 4070 SUPER arguably offers the best value of them all, but the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER offers much higher performance. If you're gunning for high-fps 1440p or 4K gaming or if you want to try your hand at AI art, then the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is the one to get.
