AMC Networks has released first-look photos for its Norman Reedus-led Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The network also revealed that the show will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Sept. 10.
The new photos don’t tell us much, but they do show glimpses of what we want to see: Daryl facing down zombies, narrowly escaping intense explosions, and using his beloved crossbow to repel, subdue, or just straight-up destroy anyone who comes between him and his survival.

Reedus’ character was a standout in AMC’s popular The Walking Dead TV series, which ran for 11 seasons from 2011-2022. The series, an adaptation of Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard’s blockbuster comic book, follows various groups of humans attempting to weather a zombie apocalypse. Writers Frank Darabont, Charles H. Eglee, and Jack LoGiudice created Daryl specifically for AMC’s television adaptation, quickly cementing him as a fan-favorite.
The spinoff takes place after the events of the main series and follows Daryl as he navigates a post-apocalyptic France. Despite initial word that she’d be reprising her role in the spinoff, Melissa McBride, who portrayed Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead, ended up not returning because the required relocation to Europe for filming wasn’t feasible.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon also stars Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi. Reedus, showrunner David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath and Daniel Percival all serve as executive producers. The show is supposedly the first in a trio of new spinoffs.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. EST.
