Even though the original Mobile Suit Gundam and the wider Gundam franchise are known as "real robot" anime, they're still the farthest thing from reality. Functioning mobile suits have yet to even be designed, and all Gundam stories are set in the far, scientifically advanced future. That's not to say Gundam isn't scientifically accurate.
