Venom 3 star Tom Hardy has shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the upcoming sequel, which may indicate that the movie picks up immediately after Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The photo posted on Hardy's Instagram account sees the actor sporting the same outfit (a Golden State Warriors tee and palm tree shirt) his character Eddie Brock wore in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, seemingly hinting Venom 3 directly follows the events of the bonus symbiote scene.

The snapshot soon surfaced on the MarvelStudios_Rumours subreddit, where people speculated about it. "That's what Eddie was wearing when he crossed universes. So I guess this picks up immediately afterwards," one Reddit user commented, while another joked: "Bro had that Warriors shirt since 2018 he just like me fr."

The last time we saw him wearing this casual get-up was in the post-credits scene of the 2021 Spider-Man movie, which basically acted as a sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage's stinger, touching base with Eddie and the Venom symbiote as they continued to hide out in Mexico — the MCU's Mexico, that is.

After marvelling at the number of superhumans in this alternate universe, Eddie gets dragged back to his home universe along with the other Spider-Man villains. The twist, though, is that part of the symbiote is left behind, hinting at an ongoing role for Venom in the MCU and Sony's plans for upcoming Marvel movies.

Plot details for Venom 3 are still under wraps, but there has been plenty of theories and discussion about the upcoming sequel. Notably, Sony posted (and then deleted) a short video of Hardy's Venom fighting Topher Grace in a mash-up of clips, sparking speculation there could be a multiversal crossover in the movie.

Venom 3 is due to hit theaters on November 8, 2024, with Hardy back as the dual-personality man-monster, joined this time out by Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
