Netflix's Blue Eye Samurai, which is set to arrive on the streamer on November 3, 2023, received a brand-new trailer and poster that shows off the striking and brutal animation of the series set in Edo-period Japan.

Blue Eye Samurai follows Mizu, a "mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise seeking the deliverance of revenge." The series itself is rated TV-MA and the trailer shows exactly why, as we see blood and limbs flying thanks to a dance of blades and action.

Pen15's Maya Erskine will be lending her voice for Mizu, and she will be joined by George Takei (Seki), Masi Oka (Ringo), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (The Swordmaker), Brenda Song (Akemi), Darren Barnet (Taigen), Randall Park (Heiji Shindo), and Kenneth Branagh (Abijah Fowler), Stephanie Hsu (Ise), Ming-Na Wen (Madame Kaji), Harry Shum Jr. (Takayoshi), Mark Dacascos (Chiaki), and more.

Blue Eye Samurai is being created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, and both are also serving as writers and executive producers. Green previously wrote on Logan and Blade Runner 2049. Erwin Stoff is taking on another executive producer role and Jane Wu will be the supervising director and producer.

Blue Spirit will be handling the animation, and its past and future projects include The Ballad of Yaya, Arthur and the Children of the Round Table, and more. The studio also worked on Marvel's What If...?.
