Iñaki Godoy and Jacob Romero, stars of Netflix's live-action One Piece series that play Monkey D. Luffy and Usopp, respectively, have shared that they really want Danny DeVito to join the cast for Season 2.
Speaking to Deadline, the pair shouted "Danny DeVito!" in unison when they were asked who their dream guest star appearance was for this upcoming season that was confirmed to be happening back in September 2023.

"We would love to find a way to put Danny DeVito in One Piece somehow," Romero said.
"If you're looking at this, Danny, please come to the show. We can do anything, man, you can be anyone you want. Just come here man!" Godoy added. "I really want to do anything with Danny DeVito."
While they didn't comment any further on who they thought he should play, the internet sure did. That Sergal on X/Twitter and many more shared that they believe DeVito would be the perfect fit for Wapol.

For those unfamiliar, Wapol is the former king of the Drum Kingdom who was the main antagonist of the Drum Island Arc and the ninth One Piece movie called Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in Winter, Miracle Sakura.
While it may be some time until we hear if DeVito heard this plea, it appears Jamie Lee Curtis is much closer to joining the cast. Even Netflix co-showrunner Matt Owens has said that they are writing Season 2 with her in mind as Doctor Kureha.
In our One Piece review, we said it is "is an entertaining adaptation that's hindered by a desire to recreate every major event found in its source material."
