From its humble beginnings as friends huddled around a kitchen table to a booming pop culture monolith, Critical Role has completely transformed since its origins in 2012. Long-time fans have enjoyed the perks of a growing fandom, including spectacular merch, the cast's appearances at prestigious conventions, and improved production quality for the show itself. It's been gratifying to see the show bolster its well-deserved success. However, when a creative venture grows more and more commercialized, it's inevitable that it's going to lose some of its initial charm along the way.
