Dungeons & Dragons has been out for decades now, and today is experiencing something of a renaissance with how many people play, and engage in live shows of their exploits, be they epic, tragic, or hilarious. Yet, one of the key factors of these games is that players tend to operate within their own worlds, rather than the published settings crafted by Wizards of the Coast, and before them the game's original makers. Known as homebrewing in today's modern setting, the term can be applied to games run all the way back into the 70s.
