Sonos doesn't discount its popular speakers very often, so it's a wise investment to jump on a good sale whenever you see one. Right now Sonos is offering a Sonos Arc soundbar for $719.00. That's 20% off the $899 MSRP and matches the deal we saw during Black Friday. If you're looking for an easy solution to add great sound to your home, then you've probably already heard of Sonos. Sonos speakers are very easy to set up, don't take a large amount of space, and most importantly, offer distortion-free room-filling audio. We picked Sonos as our best soundbar of 2023.

Sonos Arc Soundbar for $719

The Arc is Sonos' flagship product. This is a premium soundbar and it shows. You can't get much better in terms of sound quality from a soundbar, and that's thanks to its chunkier 45" length. There's enough space in there to contain eleven precisely engineered internal speakers, including two dedicated height channels. It's Dolby Atmos ready, and there's even low-end power here that you can get away without a subwoofer.

The Sonos Arc has a built-in microphone. You can control your Sonos and play music with just your voice. It's also Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant compatible, so there's no need to have an Amazon Echo or Google Home device in the same room as the Arc. It has other nifty features like an ambient light sensor, HDMI eARC, capacitive touch controls, WiFi, and more.

Sonos Sub (Gen 3) for $639

There's one other Sonos product that's back on sale, and that's the Sonos Sub. The Sonos Arc provides an appreciable amount of bass, which is impressive considering how low profile it is. However, if ground-shaking heart-pounding bass is what you're after, you need to upgrade to a discrete sub. The Sonos Sub is easily the best complementary sub because its recognized instantly by Sonos Arc. It features two 6" drivers that face inwards towards each other to eliminate vibrations. Each driver is powered by its own amplifier and delivers more than enough sound pressure for even a large room. Like the Arc, the Sonos Sub maintains a small footprint and it looks good. The integrated wireless connectivity so you can avoid the hassle of routing a cable back to the rest of your home theater components, just a plug to an outlet for power is required.

Sonos Move for $299

The Sonos Move is six times larger than the portable Sonos Roam, but in exchange for the heftier size you get far better acoustics. You get clean, accurate sound and a good amount of bass thanks to its integrated cabinet mid-woofer, down-firing tweeter, and two Class-D digital amplifiers. Like the Roam Smart, it has both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant built-in so it can double up as your smart speaker.

Why is Sonos so popular?

Sound quality vs size

Despite the fact that Sonos products are compact and don't take up much space in your house, they offer surprisingly loud and distortion-free audio. They're definitely pricier than budget options, but the sound quality is more akin to audio products that cost hundreds more or take up much more space.

Easy setup

Sonos devices are usually simple plug and play. All you have to do is plug in a power cable (if even that's necessary) and one connection to your TV (if even that's necessary), download the Sonos app, and you're done. Generally a receiver isn't required; the soundbars are designed to plug right into your TV and the speakers are designed to work wirelessly. For something like a 5.1ch home theater setup, you don't have to deal with a mess of cables. Individual Sonos speakers can pair with your soundbar and be used as rear satellites, and the subwoofer is also wireless so it can be positioned virtually anywhere in your room.

Communication between devices

Practically all Sonos speakers can communicate with each other. That means you can pair different Sonos speakers in different rooms for multi-room capability. Or you can pair two speakers for stereo output. Or you can pair speakers to your soundbar to be used as a 5.1ch setup. It's all seamlessly done through the app.
