Movies have done a great job of exploring a range of heroes and their journeys since the film industry's creation. While the classic conclusion of a hero's journey is something akin to them riding off into the sunset, some heroes aren't nearly as lucky. Indeed, many films have ended on a complete gut-punch of a conclusion, with various heroes being betrayed, killed or having fates even worse than death.
