In the Marvel Universe, the idea of fighting fire with fire can make for some interesting alliances, like the current one between a time-traveling conqueror and his mortal enemies, Earth's Mightiest Heroes. This pact was formed in the pages of Avengers #2 when Kang recruited the titular heroes to protect him from another intrepid band of champions, The Twilight Court, who hounded and almost mortally wounded him in last year's Timeless one-shot by writer Jed MacKay and artists Greg Land, Kev Walker, and Mark Bagley.
