A standout piece of advice that Queen Elizabeth II received after her father's death in The Crown Season 1 was "The Crown must win, must always win." In later seasons, this sentiment loses much meaning with society evolving, and the royal family refusing to modernize themselves at the loss of their popularity. In the end -- and through much resistance -- the crown does win. It might not be a satisfying ending for anti-monarchy viewers gritting their teeth, but it sure is a happy and realistic conclusion for the royals.
