The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to slowly build up its next epic narrative, the Multiverse Saga. But not every movie, streaming series and holiday special has a clear connection to the larger story being told. While Phase Five's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki deal directly with the dangers of the multiverse and those who seek to rule it, 2023's other MCU projects, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Secret Invasion, are contained to a single universe and are more focused on their own stories. Many believed the MCU's next release, The Marvels, would fall into the latter category, but that might not be the case after all.
