Blue Beetle is now one of DC's most popular young heroes, at least the Jaime Reyes version of the character. Nevertheless, the character's legacy reaches back decades before Jaime came on the scene and his mantle was once associated with two Charlton Comics heroes. When DC acquired these characters back in the 1980s, this indirectly led to their adaptation in Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons's Watchmen, arguably the most important superhero comic ever written.
