While the Arkham Asylum TV series was initially announced as part of Matt Reeves' The Batman Universe, James Gunn confirmed on Threads that the show will now flesh out his and Peter Safran's upcoming DC Universe. Even though the original prospect of exploring the bowels of the asylum in Reeves' world seemed enticing with the possibilities of Riddler and the Joker being present, the DCU can be an equally exciting sandbox for the series.
