Earlier this year, news seemed to drop that Prime's animated superhero series Invincible had been renewed for season 4 and 5. At the time, it turned out that news wasn't true, but the good news is that now half of it is: Invinsible has now been renewed for a season 4, for real this time.
This news came from a panel at San Diego Comic-Con focused on Prime Video's adult animation, including Hazbin Hotel, Foodtopia, Vox Machina, and yes, Invincible. Creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman took to the stage talking about the joys of working in animation and his excitement at seeing his comic turned into an animated show. From there, he talked a little about the upcoming season 3 and teased the darker suit that the titular hero will wear:
Kirkman concluded his segment by confirming that while he can't talk about a season 3 release date yet, it's "not a long time before" he can talk about it, and confirmed that Invincible had been greenlit for season 4.
Invincible wasn't the only animated show to get some greenlight news, as it was revealed in the same panel that Hazbin Hotel is getting a third and fourth season, and Sausage Party: Foodtopia is getting a second season.
We're having a good time with Invincible thus far, giving season 1 an 8/10 in our review and season 2 a 7/10, saying "Despite its scattered structure, Invincible’s second season shines a light on its strongest elements long enough to leave a lasting impact."
