BOOM! Studios' popular BRZRKR series is returning with another new story in August, but this one has a special twist. BRZRKR: The Lost Book of B will be the first comic to reunite co-creator Keanu Reeves and the rest of the original creative team since the conclusion of the main BRZRKR series.

IGN can exclusively reveal the first details about BRZRKR: The Lost Book of B. First, check out the cover art to this spinoff prequel below:

Like previous releases in the BRZRKR: Bloodlines series, BRZRKR: The Lost Book of B is a standalone prequel exploring a forgotten chapter in the long life of the immortal warrior B. This issue flashes back to the 13th Century, a time when B is battling in service of the unstoppable Genghis Khan. But as this conqueror's war extends ever wider, B must grapple with the question of where his loyalty truly lies.

The Lost Book of B reunites the full creative team from the original BRZRKR comic, including Reeves, co-writer Matt Kindt, artist Ron Garney and colorist Bill Crabtree. In addition to a main cover by Garney and KIndt, this issue features variant covers from Mattia de lulis, David Nakayama, Bill Sienkiewicz and Dan Panosian.

“BRZRKR was such a large scale project that I think we all needed to recover afterward… but I think we all had a feeling we’d be back,” Kindt tells IGN. “This one is bigger and crazier than anything we’ve done before. Whatever you’re expecting, flip it upside down and multiply it by a thousand.”

“It’s been very exciting to return to this sojourn of B. with the guys and delve back into the immersive world of BRZRKR–particularly in a story that involves the world’s greatest conqueror, Genghis Khan,” Garney says. “I’m a huge fan of period pieces visually and, better yet, getting to tell this story–which feels as though it truly was almost lost to history only to be recovered as if it were found written in scrolls in an ancient tomb. Or like reading Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey. This story is so rich in texture, nature, and lore. I’m having a blast and can imagine any new readers and long time fans will too.”

BRZRKR: The Lost Book of B will be released on August 21, 2024.

Elsewhere in the world of comics, the Avengers and Ultraman are crossing over, and Wolverine: Revenge features a truly killer creative team.
