The Flash adapts one of the most iconic storylines for its title character ever published, with Flashpoint a more than obvious inspiration. The movie is merely a loose adaptation of Flashpoint, changing certain elements and leaving out others. Strangely enough, one of the main missing components is the presence of Barry Allen's arch-rival.
