Nintendo has revealed a remake of the original Mario VS Donkey Kong game that originally released on Game Boy Advance.
Revealed during today's Nintendo Direct, Mario VS Donkey Kong is coming to Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2024.
This version of the game is adding local co-op, as we saw Mario and Toad working together to gather the key and reach the goal.
Unlike the later entries in the Mario VS Donkey Kong series that focused on Lemmings-like gameplay with the Mario Minis, the original Mario VS Donkey Kong plays like the beloved Game Boy game Donkey Kong '94, where Mario has a parkour-like moveset he uses to solve puzzles and reach the end of the level.
Mario VS Donkey Kong first came out in 2004, and we awarded it an 8.5 in our review, saying, "All of the well-established gameplay elements of the original have returned in new and fun platformer challenges with a decidedly different theme and flavor, taking advantage of the more powerful GBA platform."
