Judge Dredd is the law. A one-man judge, jury, and executioner, Judge Dredd is a living legend that few criminals willingly cross. No other Judge in the history of the Hall of Justice has ever worked as tirelessly, as devoutly, and as relentlessly as Dredd has to uphold the law. Without him, his massive home of Mega-City One would have been destroyed countless times over. Judge Dredd has fought everything from invading alien super fiends, murderous robots, and chaotic families of mutants from the Cursed Earth; there is always some horrific force working to destroy the city Dredd has sworn to protect. Interestingly enough, though, is the fact that for all of Judge Dredd's explosive action, the heart of the series has never been purely action but rather razor-sharp sociopolitical commentary with a hefty dose of grim humor.
