For the most part, the main factions in the Transformers franchise are the Autobots and the Decepticons. This briefly changed, however, in the later 1990s with the release of Beast Wars: Transformers. The toyline and corresponding cartoon introduced a new generation of fans to the Maximals and Predacons, the latter of whom proved to be some of the best additions to the franchise.
