Disney has revealed that D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will be the expanded version of its official expo that will take place in Anaheim, California, from August 9 to 11, 2024.
While Disney wasn't ready to reveal all the details for next year's D23 expo, it did share that the "one-of-a-kind experience will have spectacular shows, new venues, and multiple days of entertainment that brings together the wonderful world of Disney." And yes, that should include some big news, trailers, and more from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and more.
The D23 kickoff celebration will take place at Disneyland Resort on August 8 and then the Anaheim Convention Center will be the home of the fan expo from August 9 through 11. That's not all, however, as the "fun" will be "extending into the evening at the Honda Center - the bigger home to marquee shows."
D23 attendees will also be able to look forward to a special D23 Day at Angel Stadium on August 4 where they can watch the Angels take on the New York Mets and enjoy a special Disney-themed ballgame.
Tickets for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will go on sale in Spring 2024 and ticket details for the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center will be revealed later. D23 Day at Angel Stadium and the D23 kickoff celebration at Disneyland will also be separate ticketed events.
The news of next year's D23 event was revealed during this year's Destination D23 expo at Walt Disney World. The expos switch off each year and D23 in California is usually the place where the big news happens.
In 2022, there were big panels for Disney and Pixar, Disney and Marvel games, and Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century. Some of the reveals included Inside Out 2, Wish, Elio, Amy Hennig's Captain America and Black Panther game, Disney Illusion Island, a trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 and Secret Invasion, and closed-door looks at Loki Season 2, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and The Marvels.
While we wait for more details on 2024's D23, be sure to check out our recap of all the big news from Destination D23's big Disney Parks panel that featured such announcements as a new land with Encanto and Indiana Jones experiences and an opening date for the Moana-themed Journey of Water.
