The last time Percy Jackson received the big studio treatment was over a decade ago in two ill-fated movies starring Logan Lerman as the titular character. Despite turning in a profit, the movies have long been criticized by book fans and series creator Rick Riordan as poor adaptations of the source material, missing the heart and humor of what made Percy's contemporary Greek mythology adventures so engaging. The upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians show intends to correct this mistake, offering a more book-accurate tale with scenes pulled straight out of Riordan's original The Lighting Thief novel, right down to the look of Camp Half-Blood's iconic orange T-shirts and more youthful versions of Percy and his friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood as they embark on their first demigod quest together.
