Unlike many big games these days, there are no special editions or collector's editions of Super Mario Wonder to tempt you into spending more money. The standard edition is the one to get.

Super Mario Wonder Preorder Bonuses

While there's no universal preorder bonus for Super Mario Wonder, a few retailers are offering their own exclusive bonuses. Preorder the game from Walmart, and you'll receive a free pack of trading cards. Each pack includes 10 cards. The entire set contains 15 standard cards, four holofoil cards, and a limited edition holofoil Elephant Mario card numbered 1 to 1,000. GameStop is offering a free set of stickers, while Best Buy is giving away a poster.

What Is Super Mario Wonder?

Super Mario Wonder is a brand-new side-scrolling Mario game. The art style is more detailed than the New Super Mario Bros. games, with expressive characters and a colorful, trippy looking take on the Mushroom Kingdom. You can play solo or with friends. The playable characters available in Wonder include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Princess Daisy.

The game gets even more trippy when you pick up a Wonder Seed, which looks like a blue, pulsating flower powerup. This changes the world around you and makes things go a little wild. Pipes start moving, things (including Mario) start stretching, new collectibles appear, and the music kicks up in intensity.

Nintendo is calling this the first brand-new sidescrolling Mario game in over 10 years. The last two traditional 2D Mario games were New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS and New Super Mario Bros. U on Wii U. In the time since, we've seen two Mario Makers, Super Mario Run, and a Deluxe port of Mario U.
