Part of what made Dungeons & Dragons so popular in recent years was the introduction of web shows that allowed viewers, both veteran players and novices, to witness the exploits of other characters. It helped inspire new shows in a similar vein and even prompted some people to make their own games. One of the precursors to this show was, of course, Critical Role. A web show spanning over the course of three campaigns currently, with a handful of spin-off miniseries already made, it has showcased some of the best player acting ever seen in Dungeons & Dragons, but one person in particular has stood out in the world of D&D: the show's Dungeon Master, Matthew Mercer.
