When Futurama was un-cancelled yet again by Hulu, audiences expected a certain amount of self-deprecating humor. Like Matt Groening's other series The Simpsons, Futurama has never been afraid to poke fun at itself -- even moreso given the show's convoluted production history. Coming back from the TV dead a second time naturally lends itself to jokes, especially on a sci-fi comedy, and Season 8, Episode 1, "The Impossible Stream" leans so far into that idea that it's practically falling over with laughter.
