Season 2 of What If…? arrived amid the 2023 holiday season as a balm for weary fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The animated series received widespread critical praise, restoring some of the fun and energy that had been absent from the mega-franchise for much of the previous year. The nine episodes were each released one a day at a time from Dec. 22 through Dec. 30, and have hopefully set the stage for a major MCU course correction in 2024. A third season has been greenlit, though no release date has been set.
