This post isn’t for you! It’s for me, because I’d love to add to my collection of official Zelda lore literature. The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia is currently on sale for $20, which is half off its regular price, and it’d look so good next to my Hyrule Historia. It’s simply a must-have book for Zelda fans who want to immerse themselves in the minutiae of Hyrule. Inside, you’ll see concept art and development sketches of towns, characters, and maps, along with the official lore regarding items like potions, the Master Sword, and Majora’s Mask.
This book covers the timeline from Legend of Zelda to Twilight Princess HD — Nintendo and publisher Dark Horse haven’t yet released an updated text to include more recent titles like Echoes of Wisdom. In addition to serving as a pretty book to leave out for Zelda-curious guests to peruse, I like to use my copy of Hyrule Historia (a similar concept, but more focused on the timeline of events within the franchise) as inspiration for doodles and ideas for Zelda-themed tattoos. Plus, who doesn’t want to learn more about Tingle?
