After a string of flops and critical failures, the upcoming Blue Beetle film finally may be able to break an unfortunate trend that has been plaguing DC's recent movie releases. Set to finally hit theaters on August 18, Blue Beetle marks the live-action debut of Xolo Maridueña's eponymous superhero. To increase excitement for the upcoming film, new DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has confirmed that Blue Beetle will be the first character in his DCU before the release of Superman: Legacy in 2025.
